Amber Property Group’s visionary project has received approval for its new plans, which include a range of exciting developments within the master plan. Situated on a near-half-hectare site bordered by Gheringhap, Corio, and Clare streets, as well as Transit Place, and conveniently located just one block from the Geelong waterfront, Cunningham Place is set to become a bustling hub of activity.

The approval of this project follows the recent implementation of the Geelong Central Framework Plan, which outlines new height limits for CBD sites in an effort to increase the inner-city residential population to 16,000 and the working population to 60,000 by 2050. As a result, Amber’s development at Cunningham Place will be capped at a height of 60 meters or 17 storeys, a slight reduction from the initially proposed 63 meters.

The approved plans for Cunningham Place feature an impressive 5000-square-meter conference facility, complete with a 650-seat auditorium, catering to the needs of large-scale events and gatherings. Additionally, a luxurious 168-room hotel will be constructed, offering top-notch accommodation for visitors to Geelong. Moreover, more than 60 thoughtfully designed apartments will be built, providing residents with comfortable and contemporary living spaces.

Upon completion, ACTS Global Churches will take ownership of assets worth $35 million, including the conference facility and one level of car parking. The remaining aspects of the project, including the hotel, will be retained by Amber and its investment partners, ensuring a continued commitment to the success and growth of the precinct.
