The Arundel Hills Country Club, located in the Gold Coast region of Queensland, Australia, is set to undergo a significant redevelopment as it is transformed into a residential housing estate. The proposed plan aims to convert the existing golf course and club facilities into a modern, high-quality residential community, offering a range of housing options to potential buyers.
The redevelopment plan includes a range of new features and improvements, such as the subdivision of up to 450 new housing lots, parks, walking tracks, and cycle paths. The lots will range from 286sqm to 1223 sqm under the current development application submitted to the Gold Coast City Council.
The Arundel Hills Country Club was closed in 2022 after its Chinese owners Zhongsheng Management Pty Ltd were placed into the hands of administrators. Arundel Estate Developments Pty Ltd , led by Dale Carroll, Andrew Barbayannis, Rupinder Singh Brar and Dushyant Khana, have put the estate under contract and are set to lead the project.
The new community will feature a range of amenities and services, including a community centre, swimming pool, tennis courts, and a range of retail and commercial spaces. The community centre will be a hub for social and recreational activities, offering a range of programs and services to residents.
Urbis have led the town planning, urban design and landscape architecture for the project, with their Property & Economics team performing a needs assessment for the golf course to test the viability of transitioning to residential.
With the site currently being an 18-hole golf course, there are many unique and dramatic features that we have taken advantage of: intense corridors of eucalyptus trees framing the fairways, undulating grassy mounds plus the amazing water bodies. – Kirsten Wilson, Associate Director.
Part of the plan is to gift a large portion of the site to nearby A.B Patterson College, for a sporting program aimed to foster the students’ athletic endeavours.
The redevelopment plan also includes the creation of a network of parks, walking tracks, and cycle paths, connecting the different areas of the community and providing residents with easy access to outdoor recreational activities. The parks will feature a range of facilities, including playgrounds, picnic areas, and sports fields, catering to a range of different interests and ages.
